Welcome to our Encon Solutions!
In many industrial processes, condensate cannot always drain by gravity due to back pressure or system layout constraints. During such conditions—known as "stalling"—conventional steam traps fail to remove condensate effectively, leading to water hammer, steam locking, and reduced heat exchanger efficiency.
The Encon ESPT Pumping Trap is a hybrid device combining a steam trap and a pump in a single compact unit. It removes condensate during both normal (gravity return) and stalled (no differential pressure) conditions, ensuring continuous operation of heat exchangers and steam equipment without loss of steam or risk of equipment damage.
Call NowThe ESPT functions in two intelligent modes, switching automatically depending on operating conditions:
Trap Mode (Normal Condition):
When there's enough pressure differential, the ESPT acts as a float-operated steam trap. The float rises with condensate, opening the valve to drain water by gravity.
Pumping Mode (Stalling Condition):
When pressure differential drops (e.g., downstream pressure is equal to or higher than upstream), the ESPT acts as a mechanical pump. Motive steam is introduced into a chamber, pushing the condensate out actively.
The system auto-detects the need for switching and responds without any external control or power source—ensuring zero interruption and total efficiency.

The Pumping Trap is especially suited for heat transfer applications with inconsistent or back pressure-prone return lines:
Heat Exchangers in textile, food, and chemical plants
Coil Heaters and jacketed vessels in batch process industries
Steam Tracing Systems with elevation changes
Remote steam users where power supply is unreliable
Evaporators and dryers with pressure-varying returns
Piping networks with negative return slopes
By ensuring complete drainage of condensate, ESPT helps maintain design temperatures and reduces rework or downtime.
Call NowEncon Solutions has perfected the dual-mode Pumping Trap through extensive field testing and customer feedback across industries. Unlike traditional systems that require separate pumps and traps, the ESPT is a compact all-in-one solutionthat reduces capital cost, installation complexity, and maintenance needs.
